I’m going to show you how to make fish balls drawn in authentic Italian Passata, that saucy tomatoes that mix perfectly with mackerel and mashed potatoes.

Ingredients

  • 450 gr mackerel canned
  • 4 potatoes
  • 680 gr Tomato Passata
  • 80 gr Pecorino cheese
  • garlic
  • parsley
  • 1 egg
  • black olives pitted

Procedure

  • Let's get ready with the tomato sauce: garlic and parsley gently frying in extra-virgin olive oil. Add the tomato sauce;
  • In the meanwhile, we boil the potatoes and, after cooling them down for a bit, we mash them;
  • Cut half of the black olives and chop the parsley: mix these with the mashed potatoes. Then add the mackerel, salt, black pepper, the egg and the Parmesan cheese;
  • Make a few fishballs with the mix we just prepared;
  • Put the fishballs in the tomato sauce, covered them delicately in sauce, add the remaining black olives (whole, pitted) then put the lid on and let everything cook, at low heat, for 10 minutes;
  • ENJOY
